Movies The Gaea Star Crystal Trilogy, Part 1:  Making of the ScreenplayHistorical introduction to the creation of the screenplays and original spiritual teachings of the Gaea Star Crystal materials By Mariam Massaro THE BIRTH OF GAEA STAR CRYSTAL MATERIALS began in November of 1998. I was watching the beautiful sunset on my herb farm in western Massachusetts with my cat Fu Manchu. As we enjoyed the stillness and the colorful beauty, I was inspired to write a play about the beauty of the Mother Earth and how to preserve her resources for the future generations using the artistic form of outdoor theater and music. The original name of the play was The Rainbow Crystals of The Earth. During the ensuing long cold winter months, animal spirits, dreams and other ideas unfolded into the story daily. Eventually the play became a story about the adventures of seekers who bring back balance to the earth by traveling to the four corners of the world in search of the sacred knowledge crystals hidden long ago by wise elders. The four corners represent the human race. The people of the earth must first awaken to their beauty within to become loving, caring beings. There were originally over 25 different parts including, the seekers, elders, goddesses, fairies, animals, gems and spirits of the earth who appeared to me asking to be included in the story. It then turned into a musical after 13 songs came to me in the night at times, right out of my dream state. I have always loved to sing sacred prayers to the Creator for many years. Since writing a play was a new creative endeavor, I had to teach myself how to weave everything together. The play was completed by April 1999, just in time to perform it outside on Earth Day at my farm. Several people who participated brought their own costumes while others used my own costume collection for theirs. Scripts were handed to everyone, even to those who arrived that same day to build a sweat lodge for a Native American medicine man coming to lead a ceremony. We enjoyed performing the Rainbow Crystals of the Earth even though we had not rehearsed. It was a beautiful sunny day, the children loved playing their parts and, magically, a real fox walked into our performance to sniff all the stuffed animals that were part of the set just after we read the part for the fox. The Queen of the Faeries created an authentic set of wings for herself and a little faerie girl. The little faerie happily followed the cast and the audience throughout the farm sprinkling faerie dust. It was a mystical day with real fairies dancing with us. It was a time of new beginnings: I met my new partner, who traveled with the medicine man, and began a new spiritual medicine path of the Green Way, the ancient native traditions from North and South America. I became very busy growing herbs, raising horses, sheep, and llamas, and keeping up with the demands of running Wise Ways Herbals. That was the only time the play was ever performed. It ended up on a bookshelf, nearly thrown out several times. "Hold onto this," I thought. "Someday I might rewrite it and see if someone in film or stage was interested in producing it. After all, it might become a musical or even a movie." However, editor friends said the play did not contain enough angst or negative drama. For years my involvement in sweat lodges and other ancient native traditions of North and South America led me to Colombia and Peru to study with shamans of the jungle and the Inca of the Andes. My herbal knowledge merged with my interest in the spiritual realms of these ancient traditions in creating new work as a medicine woman, leading ceremonies and developing a ministry, Star Water Healing Sanctuary. Some of the songs from the play, I have continued to sing in the lodges and the medicine ceremonies. I travel around the world as a medicine woman and share these popular songs at goddess gathering retreats. I am in the process of recording them to be released on CDs and in digital form. Wise Ways Herbals has prospered. This year we celebrate its 20-year anniversary here at my farm. In the fall of 2007 I had a dream that guided me take the play off the back shelf and rewrite it into a new version that was to be released to the world. The computer used to write the original was no longer with me nor did the old files work in new computers. At Christmas, a friend offered to retype the play using her computer. I was excited someone was interested in it after nine long years. A few days later when I was upstairs in my room with a warm rock on my neck and a kitty on my back to help me with an intense headache. I heard a voice within calling me to look outside at the starry sky saying, "Get up! Pay attention." I saw an orange glowing 'star' shining brilliantly into my bedroom as large as a pumpkin. It surprised me to see Mars so huge but I remember hearing that it was the closest to earth in many years. At the same time, comet Holmes was in the news for being the brightest distant comet in recent history, as it blazed a trail through our solar system beyond the orbit of Mars. I heard another message from spirit: "Change the name of the play to the Gaea Star Crystal and begin before the beginning. Start in heaven with the council of ascended Masters, angels, and interested light beings from throughout the universe discussing why the Gaea Star experiment is not working." Upon asking what spirit meant, the voice replied, "We who inhabit the celestial realms guide the evolution of human civilizations. Our name for planet earth is the Gaea Star. Present the story that the angelic ones, the archangels, as well as the other ascended masters from the heavenly realms are guiding you to awaken to your true missions upon the Gaea Star." Well, of course I was very excited and began writing the play as instructed on New Year's Eve with my new partner Dameron. We finished what we thought was the text for Act One at exactly midnight. The friend who retyped the play connected us with Teka Luttrell, a visionary artist and author from California who designs unique imagery, books and websites. Teka's personal website is The Soul Connection Network, which describes holographic awareness, the telepathic network of the human species and the unlimited nature of the immortal soul. After reading the original play, Teka was inspired to meet with us to discuss working on the project. He and the typist visited on a cold winter day in late January of this year and together we began rewriting the second act. They insisted it should be rewritten as a movie screenplay and possibly more than one movie. At this time I was inspired to change the main character to a woman, Shalaya, who becomes a medicine woman on a similar path as mine. Shalaya represents and embodies the goddess love energy and wisdom that is essential for restoring balance to humanity. Within a week, Teka sent the first draft of my vision for the movie opening art. It was incredibly moving to see my vision crystallizing I saw his beautiful poster appearing before me. I continued to write both acts throughout the very long cold winter and even managed to travel to Peru to hike the Inca trail, to Texas to lead sweat lodges and to Maui for a vacation. As spring finally arrived, my gardens called me, making it a very busy time for me to write. I set my goal to finish the original rewrite by June and then move into the next phase. On my birthday, Teka came to stay with us to help finish the screenplay. It was truly a blessing to have him move here. We finished the rewrite within one month and he began to design a website for the Gaea Star Crystal project. My dreams continue to guide me. In the normal unfolding of my life, I meet the characters in person that I have written into the screenplay. Hence, the Gaea Star Crystal story is reflected in my own living reality. People have dreamed about meeting me and felt deeply moved when seeing the opening artwork. The beautiful connections that continue to happen are confirmations that the spirit of this project is very powerful and keeps leading me onward with beautiful sweet insights. We are very excited to present the teachings of my spirit guide, Ashento, who is my Twin Flame companion as well. As you see, the Gaea Star Crystal Trilogy has evolved into a complex, far-reaching, visionary, catalytic spiritual adventure, very different from the original play. We are honored to co-create the Gaea Star Crystal artistic and spiritual teachings with those who are guided to help awaken humanity at this important time.
